State and Sustainability of Municipalities GR Ward Committees
Ward Committees should address public concerns and municipal sustainability.
Once municipal councils are democratically elected (every 5 years) do they then cease to abide by democratic principles as servants of the public? Have voters then lost control of their democratic rights and are councillors in the service of the political parties they represent? Have voters become the proverbial “ball” being kicked around in different political party caucuses to gain political points as opposed to having their concerns addressed and equitable service delivery provided across municipalities?
